We will mainly use Radias from now on, so you need to be proffiient and efficient at converting between radians and degrees.
Key point: There are 2π radians in 360 degrees.
Work to complete: pages 6-8
Learning Goal: Make a trig calculator out of make and use this to create speaghetti trig graphs.
Materials: Unit circle, spaghetti, coloured cardboard
Spaghetti Trig
Recall:
sin(θ) = O / H
cos(θ) = A / H
tan(θ) = O / A = sin(θ) / cos(θ)
Using the triangles on the left, we can determine exact values for trigonometric ratios for certain angles.
Work to complete:
If you can remember the unit circle and the definition of sin/cos/tan then you can almost always calculate releveant trigonometric ratios. This also helps develop a deeper conceptual understanding which you will need to solve problems.
