Mr Tantau's Blog
I'll post things I find interesting here. I will try to update this weekely.
Well I can't belive it's already February, not to mention 2025... I remembmer when I thought the year 2000 was crazy, which now seems ages ago...
I've had a great break, that was cut a little short by having to return early to sort out the MHC timetable, but it's a challenge that I love, even thought it takes many hours, days, months... I like to tell people that I create timetables for 40 teachers, across 30 rooms, for around 560 students. There are around 720 unqiue lessons to timetable every week!
I have a few major goals this year:
Explore the use of AI in education, which I was lucky enough to win the staff study award to explore. This will take me to Google HQ in Sydney at the end of term 1
Implement the refreshed Maths curriculum
Develop this website as a resource for my students and anyone else who finds it interesting
I find setting goals a great way to crystalise what I want to achieve throughout the year. However, it's important to remember that you need to break big goals into smaller, achievable mini goals. Hence this website will be developed on the fly.
The website was born out of my frustration with Google Classrooms and it's lack of customisability. Google Sites is a great way to quickly build a site with basic content without knowing anything to do with html and building websties etc.
I'm super excited for 2025, and can't wait to see what it has to offer!
